So my best friend Leslie and I left Wednesday morning for our very first road trip/mini vacation together. We headed to Austin to See
Amanda Palmer and The Grand Theft Orchestra at Stubb's.
If you don't know who Amanda Palmer is - we first fell in love with
The Dresden Dolls, who we have seen live 3 times. The genre of music is considered "punk cabaret". They/she are absolutely amazing musicians and incredible people. After her very courageous and inspiring
Kickstarter campaign, we knew we couldn't miss out on seeing her live once again with an amazing band backing her up.
Here is part one from our trip and the show!

Ready for the show!
Beautiful Amanda introduces each opening act, which all consisted of the band members in The Grand Theft Orchestra, as well as some Austin locals on strings and brass.
"The Simple Pleasure" Lead singer Chad Raines, also guitarist in the GTO. (kind of developed a crush on this guy)
The band comes on with an insanely dramatic start.
I was very pleased with a lot of the shots I got, even the blurry ones turned out pretty cool.

After this, she crowd surfed with the long sheer fabric attached to her, the fabric stretched over the crowd as she was carried to the back, whilst singing, it was so beautiful and majestic and I didn't get one clear shot of it. Luckily, I won't forget it.
an amazing finale
The only picture I seemed to get of Jherek Bischoff, he was always just out of my sight or moving around too much. None the less an AMAZING bass player and over all splendid personality.
The show was amazing and charismatic all around. Every single person on stage expressed nothing but passion for music and worked so well with each other. They played pretty much everything I could possibly want to hear and I couldn't be more pleased. We had an amazing time.
The next day we headed to San Antonio for a little fun on The River Walk.
Stay tuned for part 2 with pictures from that!
