MandoPhoto ~ In the woods

When going to Centerville, Tx, in the beautiful Pine Tree filled woods during the Fall, I can't help but to want to do a little photo-shoot. I had to talk myself into it, as I felt kind of silly getting a little dolled up, and tromping out of everyone's sight with my tripod to shoot pictures all by myself. I knew I would regret it if I didn't, and I'm so glad I did. It was fun and just what I needed to boost my creative morale, and perhaps my self esteem.

The colors of nature were bright, the air a little brisk, and the sun glowing beautifully through the trees. The wind would kick up and the sound of the leaves and pine needles falling was so relaxing. I did not trek that far from "camp" at all, but it's amazing how the little downhill distance put me in a quiet place of solitude.

This cape was a major splurge for me last year, found in a vintage shop called Lula B's, I fell in love and couldn't resist, I didn't get a lot of chances to wear it and I'm looking forward to more chilly weather to work some outfits around it. Not to mention how much fun it is to swirl around. (my first animated gif!!! the quality diminished a bit, but I still dig it)

I did have some darling black boots to pair with this outfit, but they have a bit too much of a heel on them for me to set a timer on the camera and then run into place through the mushy pine needles, so I stuck with my comfy flats that I think are actually slippers and I've almost worn them completely out.

And because I can never take myself too seriously...

  1. as always....EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! i love your creativity. every itty bitty thing about it! so refreshing and mahvelous and i CANNOT begin to express how very happy i am that you are in my life! thanks for the smiles. muaaaaah!

    1. Thank you Mama C! Your unconditional love and support is always motivating and means so much to me. :)

  2. you dyed your hair! it looks super pretty on you. and what a fun poncho, i'm really digging the colors. now that i live back at my parents' house the woods are just a 5 minute walk away....but i've been being such a whimp with this weather. seeing your pictures really did make me miss it though! i just might put my big girl pants on and go this weekend ;)

    1. I did and thank you! You better go march into those woods for some pictures, if I don't seem some soon on the blog I will badger you until you do! It's so worth it! :)

    2. Hahah that gives me incentive to do it then! And about your comment on my post- I literally just bought that jean jacket. I haven't owned one ever either (what s wrong with us?!) and I've been hunting over 6 months for one. I'm so friggen happy it's finally over haha

    3. We're obviously denim deprived! I am now on the hunt, I could have bought one last summer at a thrift store and turned it down, shame on me.

  3. Yay! I love goofy outfit photos. I'm all about them. I feel like fashion bloggers are the worst for taking themselves too seriously! It's seriously way more fun to be a goofball. I think, anyway.

Great outfit. I love that cape.

    1. Thanks! I definitely did more than one goofy pose or face, I just felt so silly posing like a little girly girl and realized I was holding my breath most the time, making a silly face helped me relax and feel more like me :)

  4. I am so happy that my baby girl has the creativity gene! Love you and everything you do!

    1. Thank you Mommy, I don't know where I'd be with your endless support!

  5. Love that cape!
P.S. I really like the design of your blog title
